Crypto Tax-Loss
Harvesting Calculator

Work out how much of your unrealized crypto loss you can actually use this year. Enter your lots, your gains so far, and your bracket, and the calculator applies the capital loss netting rules in order, caps the ordinary income offset, and shows what carries forward. Digital assets are treated as property, so the wash sale rule in section 1091 does not currently reach most tokens, but that posture can change and the tool lets you model it either way.

Leave off for ordinary tokens. Turn on for tokenized securities, or to stress test a future rule change.
As of the vintage stamped on this page, digital assets are treated as property rather than securities, so the section 1091 wash sale rule does not reach most tokens and a repurchase inside 30 days does not by itself disallow the loss. Tokenized securities are a different matter, and Congress has repeatedly proposed extending the rule. Turn the toggle on to see what your result looks like under wash sale treatment.
